Boutique Nelson Wines
Fossil Ridge is a family owned and managed vineyard offering affordable award winning boutique wines. We are situated in Nelson at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. The vineyard enjoys a temperate climate, well drained clay loam soil and north facing aspect; a terroir ideally suited to our grape varieties.
With boutique wine making our quality focus starts with fastidious attention to detail in the vineyard. Crop volumes are carefully managed to ensure optimal fruit ripening and flavours, grapes are sourced only from our vineyard and all are selectively hand picked. Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewurztraminer are whole bunch pressed to maximise juice quality.
Our wines are traditional to variety with elegant, fresh fruit driven styles showing complexity peculiar to our terrior.

Cafe Hours
Cafe open for season early December. Closed Dec 25th, 26th and Jan 1st and 2nd. Otherwise open Wed to Sun till end March.
Wine tasting is available during summer Wed to Sun 11am - 4.30pm, winter Wed to Fri 12noon - 3pm.
Our Café is open in Summer from beginning December to end March, Wed – Sun from 11am.
We serve platters, fresh country lunches, desserts and coffee. Tables available in sheltered indoor/outdoor
courtyards overlooking lilly pond with bridge.

Award Winning New Zealand Wine
The first Fossil Ridge Chardonnay 2000 won instant recognition with a Gold Medal at the Air New Zealand wine show and subsequent vintages have all achieved medal status at National Wine Shows.
